Festive Fun with the Gruffalo’s Child and Father Christmas at Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum

This winter, there’s a new kid in town! Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum are unveiling a new sculpture along their wildly popular Gruffalo Trail – the Gruffalo’s Child!

On Sunday 26th November the new character will be unveiled at the Gruffalo’s Child Christmas Celebration event. A new trail map will be on sale (£1) for families to follow through the Arboretum past all the sculptures. The Gruffalo’s Child sculpture has again been produced by talented chainsaw carver Steve Elsby.

Father Christmas will also be in attendance at the event meeting children and handing out presents in his Christmas grotto. There will be a children’s craft marquee where families can make Christmas decorations to take home and a face painting salon. For parents thinking about their Christmas shopping there will be a Christmas Market with stalls selling food, crafts and gifts in addition to the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust gift shop which is at the site.

No pre-booking is required for the event; activities are all priced individually from £1 to £3. It is anticipated that the event will prove as popular and busy as Queenswood’s previous Gruffalo events so a park and ride bus service will run from Wellington Wyevale garden centre on the A49. Full details of the event are on the website.
