Shinrin Yoku: A Forest Bathing Walk

October 22 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm

Shinrin Yoku: A Forest Bathing Walk – reconnect with the healing power of the forest.

Welcome to our Shinrin Yoku Walk at Queenswood. Shinrin Yoku, or “forest bathing,” is a therapeutic practice rooted in Japanese culture that encourages profound immersion in the natural world.  As you embark on this journey through our pristine nature reserve, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect with the healing power of the forest designed to promote physical and mental wellbeing.

Guided Experience: Your Shinrin Yoku walk will be guided by experienced naturalists who are well-versed in the art of forest bathing. They will lead you on a mindful exploration of  Queenswood, helping you attune to the sights, sounds and scents of the forest.

Awaken Your Senses: During the walk, you’ll be encouraged to engage all your senses. Listen to the gentle rustle of leaves and the songs of birds. Inhale deeply to savour the earthy aroma of the forest floor. Touch the rough bark of ancient trees and the soft moss beneath your feet. Witness the interplay of light and shadow as it dances through the canopy.

Shinrin Yoku day

Mindful Presence: Shinrin Yoku is a practice of mindfulness, inviting you to be fully present in the moment. Let go of  your distractions and worries and allow the forest to embrace you. This mental clarity can help you reduce stress, improve focus, and enhance your overall sense of well-being.

Forest Bathing Benefits: Research has shown that forest bathing can have numerous health benefits, including reduced blood pressure, increased immune system function, and lowered stress hormone levels. It can also boost your creativity and inspire a sense of awe and wonder.

Communing with Nature: As you walk, you’ll have opportunities to sit, meditate, or simply soak in the tranquillity of the forest. This communion with nature can foster a deeper appreciation for the environment and encourage a desire to protect and preserve it.

Connection and Community: Shinrin Yoku walks often foster a sense of community among participants. Sharing this experience with others can enhance the collective appreciation for the natural world and create lasting bonds.

Join us on this Shinrin Yoku Walk and let the ancient wisdom of the forest rejuvenate your body, mind, and spirit. Together, we’ll embark on a journey of self-discovery, reconnection with nature, and profound relaxation in the embrace of our beautiful nature reserve.
