An exciting opportunity to directly influence the management of two of the most important sites for wildlife in Herefordshire.

Queenswood Country Park and Bodenham Lake are soon to be managed by a partnership between Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and Herefordshire New Leaf. The partnership will be setting up two new practical conservation management work parties to cover both Queenswood Country Park and Bodenham Lake nature reserve.

Once the team of staff are established (March 2016), they will be planning the first volunteer groups to take forward the management plans for both sites. Queenswood and Bodenham Lake hold important species and habitats, recognised at a regional level. These include dormice, silver washed frittilary, semi natural ancient woodland, as well as the largest area of open water in Herefordshire and important wetland habitats at Bodenham.

Important sites for both people and wildlife, we need volunteers who can commit regularly on a monthly basis. If you feel you are able to help, then please do get in touch via the details below so that we can start creating a schedule of work with our new volunteers.

Please provide information on any relevant experience you may hold, although applications will be accepted from individuals with no prior direct experience.
